Gonorrhea and Chlamydia:
We can screen for both of these infections at Women’s Health. We will either perform a pelvic exam and send a small sample of cervical secretions to a lab for evaluation or ask for a urine sample for testing purposes.
In the event that a student’s test is positive, medication and counseling will be provided. The student will be asked to follow up in 4 weeks to make sure the medication was effective and that all sexual partner(s) were treated. All sexual partners need to be treated concurrently and you must abstain from sexual contact for 7 days after treatment.
Herpes, Genital warts:
Your provider can visually assess the external genital skin for signs of these infections.
All screening and results are confidential.
